Viena is a city with a very diverse population. The number of people living in Vienna has increased from 1,571,123 to 1,897,491 between 2002 and early 2019, mostly due to immigration from abroad. It is not a surprise, that there are quite a few organizations in Viena dealing with migration-related issues. We visited the International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD) that plays a vital role in exploring migration policy options and formulating future strategies in Europe. ICMPD Policy Briefs are key policy analyses on migration-related issues that provide background information and recommendations to policymakers and members of the academic community.
