Activity 1 (WP1): Management

The main objective of WP 1 is to set up the Management structure and establish adequate mechanisms to coordinate the project from a technical, pedagogical and administrative-financial point of view. In frame of WP 1, 7 project meetings will be organized.

Activity 2 (WP2): Initial study
Lead Partner: ISOB, Regensburg, Germany
Collection of relevant insights from international and national literatures and good practices on inclusion of Roma and migrant children in the learning environment (with the support of well-trained teachers and volunteers). To study this topic, reviews of current states of the art in partner countries (and Turkey) and validations of good practices are needed to successfully perform all the other steps of the project.

Activity 3 (WP3): Training for volunteers
Lead Partner: ISSBS, Celje, Slovenia
Training of volunteers is going to equip persons who will engage in volunteering with the knowledge of social responsibility, volunteering, as well as with strategies for working in a multicultural environment, with a focus on Roma and migrants. An E-classroom will be developed to support training activities.

Activity 4 (WP4): Volunteering activity
Lead Partner: SEEU, Tetovo, Republic of North Macedonia
A lot of emphasis is put on volunteering as one of the important instruments to help migrants and Roma children to be better included in schools and in the whole society. Volunteering work is mainly focusing on helping children with homework, communicating with migrants in the language of their countries, helping with the integration of migrant children and their parents in the region and in the community.

Lead Partner: IRŠIK, Murska Sobota, Slovenia
The main aim of teacher training is to ensure better cultural competencies for teachers that teach in classes where Roma or migrants are and to give them knowledge on strategies for inclusion of these groups in classrooms. Training will last 2 days and will be divided in workshops (intercultural competencies, strategies for inclusion, specifics of inclusion of Roma and migrant children in education …). An E-classroom will be developed to support training activities.

Digital learning opportunities are offering unlimited space for the design of self-organized and actively participating learning. Different materials, such as interactive materials, videos, quizzes, interviews are available. An E-platform is primarily designed for teachers and for volunteers; however the e-platform also targets other groups: children, their parents and other visitors in general. The E-platform will be produced in the last year (2019) of the project in 7 languages: English, German, Italian, Macedonian, Slovenian, Spanish and Turkish.

During this project, different seminars are organized for different stakeholders (policymakers in education, directors of schools, representatives from local authorities, representatives of local authorities, Institutes for Roma or migrants, researchers and academics in the area, etc.). The main topics of the seminars are the inclusion of migrant and Roma children in schools, as well as volunteering.

A complete data collection will be developed about the value of the project developments, the strength, weaknesses, opportunities and risks that were revealed through the implementation and the achievements of the project vs. indicators. This will contribute to the evaluability of the project by third parties, which will support further dissemination and exploitation.
